Breakthroughs
Well, we've had a busy few weeks around here. Three specific new breakthroughs that I'm happy to report:
1) Dippy went in water! OK, only a few inches deep, but it's still a start. There are these birds on our river walks (Spotted Sandpipers, if anyone cares) that Dippy really wants to get. She chased one right into the river when the water was still high. She got about the bottom 2" of her paws wet. She didn't even notice. Maybe there's hope yet.
2) Leaving the dog park VOLUNTARILY. Usually I plan for 30-45 minutes for "Shiba catching" but Saturday she walked right over to the gate and went out when Steve opened it. Amazing. It was only once, but we're hoping for a trend.
3) This is a little more "day-to-day practical" but she has finally learned how to get un-stuck when she's on one side of the tree/post/whatever and I'm on the other. Basic but important.
She's still the cutest (people driving by stop and pull over to see her) and sweetest puppy ever. We're looking forward to her Bday party in April. Meanwhile, I'm swamped as always but staying sane through puppy therapy. :-)
